Q: How long do neon tetras live?
The best answer: it depends on many factors, but if we are talking about the longest possible lifespan, then the answer would be 5 years when they live in an aquarium. While in the wild, many sources say 8 years (obviously I cannot test it myself)
Q: What do neon tetras eat?
If I can pick only 3, they would be brine shrimp, tubifex, and bloodworms.
There are many other options though, feel free to mention yours in this thread.
Q: How many tetras per gallon?
The easiest rule of thumb: 1 gallon of water = 1 inch of tetra.
Q: Where do they come from?
Surprisingly they come from Amazon. If you want the exact location, you can find them in Colombia or Peru.
Q: Where to buy?
Is this even a valid question? 🙂
They are everywhere! Just go to any aquarium store, you'll find them easily.
Q: How often do neon tetras breed?
I don't have the exact number of days they spawn, but some sources say 2 weeks for the adults.
